Environmental Committee

Our goal is to work together with the community, local and state officials, and environmental agencies and organizations, to find and implement solutions to the environmental concerns of the Oakland Beach Community.

We’ll be focusing on several areas such as invasive species, flooding and erosion.

Unfortunately living in a coastal community, flooding and erosion will always be a concern, especially with rising waters and stronger storms. It’s going to take time, patience, consistency, and creative solutions to mitigate their impacts. With your help, we can make a difference.

We’re currently looking for 2-3 volunteers willing to meet once a month, who are willing to work on these issues with us.

We are working on organizing some cleanups, in the meantime here are some Save the Bay, Oakland Beach cleanup dates :

Sunday April 27th, 1pm-3pm

Thursday May 22nd, 10am-12pm

Wednesday June 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th, 9:30am—11:30am

Wednesday July 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th, 9:30am-11:30am

Wednesday August 6th, 13th, & 20th, 9:30am-11:30am
